In 2006, Chaquita Lewis and Crystal Page embarked on a journey to expand the Sisterhood of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. They wanted to share their love of this great organization with the women of Chicago State University. A group of young women met with Chaquita and Crystal to discuss the need of a unique organization that would cater to needs of business and professional women.
On May 26, 2007, nine remarkable women, with the help of Chaquita Lewis and Crystal Page, were born into the land of Gamma. These nine women made history to establish Tau Chapter of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated at Chicago State University.
Tau Chapter is the 1st undergraduate chapter in Chicago and Illinois to be established at a four year university. Tau Chapter sponsors many events derived from the originial goals set forth by our founders such as sisterhood, community service and professional development.

The Founders of Tau Chapter were named S.S.I.N.I.T.M.I.D.A.T.I.O.N. for their determination, spirit, and essence of Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Incorporated within them.
